We always strive for providing what our customers want and need as a company, and we want to apply that heart and mindset in every situation.  By supporting groups, organizations, movements, and project, such as Love Mash, we wish to grow even more.  We think that helping others in need can go a long way through building personal and communal relationships starting from where we can:  our local surroundings.  We believe that love is the root and ever-evolving entity of any movement in giving back and assisting others. Simply put, we want to be a part of that.  Our hope is to follow in the steps towards becoming a sort of catalyst just like the Love Mash Challenges.

Show Your Support with Us for the Horn of Africa Relief Fund through One Day’s Wages

Hey, Crowners!

It’s December!  Yesterday we told you guys on Facebook to check back today for some big news we have for this month.  We couldn’t wait until this day to share it with you guys!  Well, enough waiting… here it is.

We’re super excited to say that we created a campaign through One Day’s Wages to help raise awareness and support the Horn of Africa Relief Fund!  Campaign?  One Day’s Wages?  Horn of Africa Relief Fund? Read on to find out what all this shindig is about.

First, watch this video of Eugene Cho, who is the founder of One Day’s Wages, to give you an introduction of the movement.

That’s it in a nutshell.  We’ve known about One Day’s Wages for awhile and thought what a great way to be involved in something like this…  and especially during this time of year.

We’ve always wanted to be a part of helping others, getting to know groups and organizations that give back in any way, shape, or form.  We feel like this is the perfect time to start.

We more than understand that not everyone is able to have everything they want.  There are those who are less fortunate barely getting the absolute necessities to even make it through today.  So we’d like to take this first step through One Day’s Wages towards giving back and helping others in need.

Care to join us?

We’re donating $5,000 to the Horn of Africa Relief Fund to start off this campaign and hope to reach our goal of $10,000 by the end of 2011.  We’re fortunate enough to say that we’ve been growing as a company in more ways than one, and are in a position to be able to do what we can to pay it forward.  We kindly ask you to join us in helping others in need.  We plan to continue to go in this direction, and we welcome anyone who would like to walk alongside us.

To support this cause and join our campaign, please visit our One Day’s Wages campaign page.

Ultimately… whether we reach $10,000 by the end of this month isn’t our primary goal.  Don’t get us wrong. Giving is great.  But in the end, what we want out of this is to raise awareness and hopefully… just maybe, everyone will be able to take something from this.

Watch this video clip from One Day’s Wages to learn about the horn of Africa.

We’ll continue to regularly post more information about One Day’s Wages, the Horn of Africa Relief Fund, and our campaign throughout this month so make sure you check back often for more details and updates!

Thanks for stopping by, thanks for reading, thanks for caring!

CaseCrown’s Thanksgiving Potluck Recap!

Thanksgiving Potluck Sign-Up Sheet

Hey, Crowners!

Last Wednesday (11/23) we had our Thanksgiving Potluck!  As you can see, above is a picture of our Thanksgiving Potluck Sign-Up Sheet created a couple weeks in advance for people to sign up for whatever dishes they wanted to bring.  We were excited to see that we were going to have ribs, pasta, mashed potatoes, stuffing, ham, cupcakes, ice cream, etc… Last year’s potluck was pretty fun and exciting, but we were definitely looking forward to this year’s potluck with a lot more people and in a bigger kitchen as well.

Wednesday morning we started off the day with decorations.  We started hanging up Encouragement Cards, Timmy the Thankful Turkey, and balloons around the kitchen.  After rearranging the tables and chairs for maximum capacity, people began to bring in the goods.  All wrapped in boxes, bags, foil, and containers, one by one the table was getting fuller by each passing minute and the refrigerator was getting even fuller.

By lunchtime, everyone gathered in the kitchen to feast!!  Can’t really express in words what happened here.  You’ve all experienced Thanksgiving before.  You know what went down.  Haha.  The food was A-MAZ-ING!!!  It was actually overwhelming.  Where to begin? What to eat??  There was sooo much food.  The buffet-style line seemed like it was never going to end.

After lunch, we played a quick little icebreaker.  We’ve mentioned before that our company is growing and we have a lot of new faces, especially during the holiday season.  We need all the extra help we can get. With name tags in tow, we each went around meeting people introducing ourselves and three unique facts. We had a few good laughs getting to know one another just a little bit more.  We now know who wears Superman underwear.  Haha.

Once the warm-up was over and we all had a chance to digest the feast we just had, colorful crowns were handed out for each team.  No surprise here.  We thought how appropriate to be kings and queens for a day here at CaseCrown.  Well, more like 2-3 hours.  It was still fun.

Then there’s Timmy the Thankful Turkey. Can you say that really fast three times? Timmy was up on our wall and people could write what they were thankful for on his red, yellow, and orange feathers.  We were thankful for the big potluck, the iPad 2, friends, family…  What are YOU thankful for?

And last but definitely not least, people seemed to like the Encouragement Cards. Yes, Encouragement Cards.  We made a card for each and every individual here with their names written on it with colorful glitter. We hung them up side by side along the wall. Anyone could write their thanks or encouraging messages to one another throughout the day.  Below you can see Jessica’s and Zach’s Encouragement Cards.

Hope everyone’s Thanksgiving was just as great!
