Hey, Crowners!

It’s week 15 of the Giving Project.  Can you believe it’s already been 4 months since the launch earlier this year?  After we started the One Day’s Wages campaign to support the Horn of Africa Relief Fund last year, we wanted to continue with the momentum in doing something that’ll help in any way that we can to promote giving and awareness. We were very excited about this project, and still are!  It’s still evolving and take shape as we push forward so we’re looking forward to see what it becomes and how much we accomplish together by the end of the year.

It’s the week of the third Thursday.  You know what that mean!  Laundry Love Santa Ana!  A few of us went out to Santa Ana and showed our support last month by helping out!  Although not everyone was able to make it, but it was such a great experience for those of us who did.  The energy was great!  We had a lot of fun meeting people and getting to know them while helping them with their laundry and dancing to the music.  We even met Scott Overpeck, who helped found Laundry Love Santa Ana later that night.  We got a chance to share our experience as he interviewed us!  Check out the interview right below!  Starting from the left, that’s Young, Andrew, Joanne, Will, and David.

We were assigned to aisle 4 washing machines.  With coins and soap in hand, we were ready to do some laundry!  Aside from the laundry, we got to see some amazing dance moves by people who were just enjoying themselves… and even get a little envious of the fun-shaped balloons that were being handed out to the little ones.

Through our Giving Project we hope to continue help organizations and events like Laundry Love Santa Ana. We’ll try to make it out again next week!

Giving Project is featuring One Day’s Wages again this week.  One Day’s Wages is one of the organizations we sponsor once every month as part of the Giving Project.

Make sure you check out our campaign to support the Horn of Africa Relief Fund.  Our goal is to raise $10,000 this year and so far we helped raise $6,830.  Thank you all so much for your support!  We’ve partnered with them to create this campaign, but you can also create a campaign for your birthday:  Birthday for a Cause.

Hey, Crowners!

We want to share about DIL’s Global Giving Challenge!  CaseCrown’s Giving Project is supporting Developments in Literacy (DIL) this week.  DIL educates and empowers underprivileged students in Pakistan.

DIL’s Global Giving Challenge is to achieve Quality Schools for 25,000 of Pakistan’s Poor.  DIL schools provide quality education for students in Pakistan and equips them with the necessary skills and tools for life-long future success.  Just picture it.  Imagine how many students will be able to walk through those school doors once they’re open.

As of right now, the number of schools and qualified teachers are very limited.  Because of the lack of resources, there are numerous students who are not in school.  They can’t even read or write.  This project will help fund two schools in their communities approximately housing 25,000 underprivileged students in the next 50 years.

DIL’s original goal was to raise 50 donors and $4,000 in one month.  Even though they’ve already reached their target goal, it still doesn’t hurt to help!  You can make a 1-time donation, a monthly recurring donation, make a gift, or donate in honor of someone!

$20 will provide one blackboard for a classroom…

$45 will provide one sink for children to use and promote better hygiene…

$300 will provide a water cooler for the entire school to have clean drinking water…

Hey, Crowners!

We’re taking a blog moment to clarify what this whole “Crowner of the Month” thing is all about.  Since it only comes up once a month, we believe there are still many of you out there who haven’t a clue what it is.

We truly appreciate every single one of you… liking us, posting on our wall, telling us how much you love our products, thanking us for special promotions and giveaways, following us on Twitter, sharing pictures and videos, and spreading the word about CaseCrown to family and friends! We know we’re repeating this week after week, but we really mean it!  So what came from this is CROWNER OF THE MONTH! At the end of each month, we’ll select ONE person who is the most awesome CaseCrown fan ever!  We’ll see how active he/she is on our social media channels and also see the depth of the contents.  Simple as that.  Our Crowner of the Month will then receive a custom recognition badge from CaseCrown with his/her name on it as well as a gift of their choice.

We started this way back in July of 2011, and it’s still growing strong.

Hey, Crowners!

We’re going into our 12th week of the Giving Project and the wonderful organization we’ll be supporting and featuring next week is Developments in Literacy!

DIL helps educate and empower underprivileged students in Pakistan by providing training for teachers so that they can lead the classes.  Building this strong teaching and learning foundation in schools, it’ll guarantee young students a promising future to better their lives and their communities.

Here at CaseCrown, we strongly believe in great education and we were grateful for the opportunity to meet with DIL founder and CEO Fiza Shah last week.  Even though she must’ve been exhausted returning from her recent trip to Pakistan the night before, we were completely awed her passion for providing equal education to underprivileged children and enthusiasm to partner with us for the Giving Project.

All we could do really was sit back and soak in everything she had to say about the organization,  her experiences, and the stories of the students and families they’ve been able to help.

If simply given the opportunity, the results can be tremendous.  Preparing a child for the future by demonstrating reasoning skills so that they can think for themselves can help them throughout the rest of their lives.  Fiza was proud to mention that four of the former students are now graduates and transitioned into teachers themselves in the very schools they were taught in as youngsters in Pakistan.  It’s very exciting and inspiring all the same to witness the journey that these students take after introducing education into their lives.

It was such a pleasure listening to what she had to share with us.  And we hope to help her and DIL share what they’ve shared with us with many more people… that is, through our Giving Project!  It’s a small step towards turning around the unfortunate lack of funds, awareness, and engagement for non-profit organizations.

One thing YOU can help is participate in the LA Walkathon 2012.  The “Walk to Educate” even will actually take place at the Mason Regional Park in Irvine on May 6, 2012.  There will be food and fun games!  Get to meet the people behind DIL and hear the stories straight from them!  If you’re in the area, come out on Sunday and support DIL!  And of course, we’ll be there!

Sunday is Earth Day!

At CaseCrown we are dedicated to do our part educating and raising awareness.  Through our day-to-day operations we try to demonstrate how little changes can make long term effects on our environment.

In the Office

Instead of using paper cups, each CaseCrown team member is issued their own coffee mug to reuse.  For those who still want to indulge in a can of soda or two, we offer recycling bins.

Shipping

When ordering from CaseCrown, you might have noticed you’re missing some bulk.  That’s because we keep shipping waste to a minimum. Rest assured.  We package with enough material to keep your CaseCrown items secure during the journey by relying on material saving techniques.

All shipping information and receipts are emailed to reduce paper waste.
