Personal Profile – CaseCrown Intern Jason Lee

Hey guys,

My name is Jason and I am the Social Media Marketing Intern. You probably recognize me from some of the videos and Facebook posts that were uploaded. I was asked to give a little blog post about myself, so here is your chance to get to know me a little. I have quite an interesting life.

Jason LeeWell, I am currently 21 years old and I am almost graduating from a wonder school called Biola University. I am majoring in Journalism with a Public Relations emphasis and minoring in Biblical Studies. I look at my life now and I wonder how I got here because 4 years ago I was an apathetic boy who was insecure and lost. Looking at this radical transformation always reminds me, even today, that there is a God who dearly loves His children, and it was only by the grace of Jesus Christ I was able to be where I am today. I share this to you because this is a true and personal encounter that I myself experienced at the age of 18, where Jesus completely transformed my life. I was going to Glendale Community College during this time and the moment I received confirmation for my calling to become a Pastor, I applied straight to Biola. In one year, I transferred to Biola and I absolutely enjoyed every moment of school. It was at this school where I made wonderful connections with people. I worked as a Biola University Ambassador, Office Assistant in the Journalism Department, Chapel Staff, Missions Conference Staff, and I even had the blessed opportunity to co-lead a short-term mission team to Indonesia last summer with another student name Nicole Hong through Biola’s Student Missionary Union. It was at Biola where I got my first internship with a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called Freely in Hope. I interned under an amazing person name Nikole Lim who is the person who took this profile picture for me. I learned a lot from her through her passion to serve and to use story telling to impact women and their families in Kenya who are in the bondage of poverty. I am very grateful for her and she is one of the few people I personally know that show great leadership. If it wasn’t for her, I probably would not have known about CaseCrown. I was connected to CaseCrown through Nikole when Freely in Hope had lunch with them. It was at this lunch gathering where I found out that my friend Mat Longinow interned at CaseCrown. Well, a couple months later, Mat messaged me about an internship position that was open and I immediately applied. So here I am now as the Social Media Marketing intern. I just gave a brief overview of my life and I know that there is still more to come. My life will always be full of testimonies.

Q & A

How did your interview go?
The interview went well. I came overdressed and prepared. I learned more about the company in the interview and had a brief overview of what the working environment looked like. At the end of the interview, David Kim our supervisor brought in the entire team and I ended up beatboxing in front of them. When does someone ever get to beatbox at an interview? Haha.

First impression of the company (people, vibe, work responsibilities, etc)?  How has that stayed the same or changed now?
When I first met the CaseCrown team, I was very impressed at the work they do. They each have different strengths and talents to bring to the company and they work together so well in unity. The team has a group of people who are genuine and nice. I got a good vibe that this team knew what they are doing. I saw that my first impression was accurate when I started my first week of work. It was Amazing!

What do you like most about your internship so far (it can be work, people, food, etc… anything)?
I enjoy working here because I get to do the things I love to do and I am always learning something new here. I love interacting with the customers on Social Media and also with my team. The CaseCrown team knows how to be a great community. It’s not just spending time in the office, but we go out and spend time even outside of work.  I also love meeting all the non-profit organizations we support through the Giving Project.

What do you think the secret of a good life is?
The secret of a good life is to walk in a relationship with Jesus Christ. When you see Jesus as the Servant King, you start to understand how His grace enables you to follow Him. If it wasn’t for His grace, I would not be where I am today.

It is random at times and I don’t usually remember my dreams. But, there are times when I have vivid dreams that are prophetic.

What are your dreams about the future?
I dream to see the lost and broken people who don’t know their true identity come to know the Lord Jesus Christ so that they may know that they are children of God and deeply loved by Him. I want to shepherd a church and make disciples of all nation. I want to get married and love my wife as Christ loved the church and become a father that can reflect the heart of my Heavenly Father above. I want to see God face to face and dwell in the fullness of His presence. I want to dream big and do the impossible. I know I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I love Korean food and Thai Food. Ahhhhh…. ALL YOU CAN EAT KOREAN BBQ is SO GOOD. I always get Pad Se-EW when I go to Thai Restaurants… ahhh I want some right now.

Most embarrassing stories about yourself?

If there was any place on earth you want to visit… where would it be and why?  What would you do there?

I want to go to many places. I want to go to Hawaii to surf, Bora Bora Island for the scenery and view, Cape Town in South Africa for Great White Shark Cage Diving, China and Middle East for missions.
