November Company Meeting & Birthday!
Hey, Crowners!
We only have one birthday this month… Mike’s birthday is on the 21st!!! We were able to personalize the cake just for him!
Last Friday was a little rainy… a little gloomy… and a little cold near CaseCrown HQ, but it still didn’t get in the way of our November company meeting and birthday celebration. I don’t know about anyone else, but I kind of look forward to our monthly company meetings. I’m always asking, “Are we having a company meeting this Friday?” ”Whose birthdays are in November?” It’s always good to get overall updates of how things are going at CaseCrown. Some of you may think, ‘You should know, you work there.’ I know, I know. And for the most part, we do. But sometimes we get so zoned in our own departments that we need a breather to step back and look at the whole picture. Perspective. We all need it. For example, if it wasn’t for the meeting I probably would’ve never known that we got a new coffee machine in the office. I mean, I’m not much of a coffee person but it’s still nice to know we have that option. The temperature’s going to continue to drop and I know people will want that hot cup of coffee to keep them going throughout the day. So something as little as a new coffee machine can be big news around here.
Another great thing about company meetings is that it’s a great chance for us to actually see and talk to other people in different departments. Don’t get me wrong here. We’re not strapped to our desks or trapped in our rooms. We’re always walking around the building, visiting people from other departments to do our normal daily work asking questions, following up, checking stats, etc. But seriously, sometimes I can go for a whole month without more than a glimpse of someone. Among us there are part-timers so when we finally do run into each other we need to catch up on life. Haha. It’s sad, but it’s true. It doesn’t happen too often, but it does happen. And now since we’re recruiting more people into the family, I’ll end up doing a double-take when I pass people down the hall or the stairs. New faces.
It seems like the kitchen is getting more and more packed each month during our meetings. We should’ve expected that. Even though we consider our company relatively small, we’re growing fast. Back in May, we moved from Anaheim to Brea into a bigger office. But we’re already setting up cubicles to maximize the usage of our office space for new people. It’s a good thing! We’re growing!
Additional news for November: We’re having a Thanksgiving potluck on November 23rd! Can’t wait for the feast!
