CaseCrown’s Thanksgiving Potluck Recap!
Hey, Crowners!
Last Wednesday (11/23) we had our Thanksgiving Potluck! As you can see, above is a picture of our Thanksgiving Potluck Sign-Up Sheet created a couple weeks in advance for people to sign up for whatever dishes they wanted to bring. We were excited to see that we were going to have ribs, pasta, mashed potatoes, stuffing, ham, cupcakes, ice cream, etc… Last year’s potluck was pretty fun and exciting, but we were definitely looking forward to this year’s potluck with a lot more people and in a bigger kitchen as well.
Wednesday morning we started off the day with decorations. We started hanging up Encouragement Cards, Timmy the Thankful Turkey, and balloons around the kitchen. After rearranging the tables and chairs for maximum capacity, people began to bring in the goods. All wrapped in boxes, bags, foil, and containers, one by one the table was getting fuller by each passing minute and the refrigerator was getting even fuller.
By lunchtime, everyone gathered in the kitchen to feast!! Can’t really express in words what happened here. You’ve all experienced Thanksgiving before. You know what went down. Haha. The food was A-MAZ-ING!!! It was actually overwhelming. Where to begin? What to eat?? There was sooo much food. The buffet-style line seemed like it was never going to end.
After lunch, we played a quick little icebreaker. We’ve mentioned before that our company is growing and we have a lot of new faces, especially during the holiday season. We need all the extra help we can get. With name tags in tow, we each went around meeting people introducing ourselves and three unique facts. We had a few good laughs getting to know one another just a little bit more. We now know who wears Superman underwear. Haha.
Once the warm-up was over and we all had a chance to digest the feast we just had, colorful crowns were handed out for each team. No surprise here. We thought how appropriate to be kings and queens for a day here at CaseCrown. Well, more like 2-3 hours. It was still fun.
Then there’s Timmy the Thankful Turkey. Can you say that really fast three times? Timmy was up on our wall and people could write what they were thankful for on his red, yellow, and orange feathers. We were thankful for the big potluck, the iPad 2, friends, family… What are YOU thankful for?
And last but definitely not least, people seemed to like the Encouragement Cards. Yes, Encouragement Cards. We made a card for each and every individual here with their names written on it with colorful glitter. We hung them up side by side along the wall. Anyone could write their thanks or encouraging messages to one another throughout the day. Below you can see Jessica’s and Zach’s Encouragement Cards.
Hope everyone’s Thanksgiving was just as great!
