Career Fair At University Of California, San Diego

Nothing could keep us from attending UCSD’s career fair this past Wednesday, not even a natural disaster. As a result of Sunday’s earthquake the event was moved outside last minute due to safety precautions but the turn out was still amazing! We had the privilege of meeting a ton of talented people. To once again thank everyone who came out we randomly choose 5 people to receive a sweet CaseCrown product. And the winners are…

1. Jeremiah Lin
2. Joel Drotleff
3. Hesam Tavakoli
4. Woan-Yi Lin
5. Andy Chhuseng Ieng

Winners may choose one of the following products:
Mobile Suede Sleeves (Netbooks)
Mobile Suede Sleeves (Notebooks)
Mobile Messenger Bags
iPhone 3GS Cases

Please comment on this post identifying which product you have chosen and color specifications.

Thank you and congratulations! ;)

  1. I’m not one of the winners but I just wanted to say it was a pleasure speaking with one of your representatives yesterday regarding the web development position, and I look forward to hearing from you. (And if somebody doesn’t claim their prize, I’d be happy to help out!)

  2. Hi, I would like the Mobile Messenger Bag in Brown please. The shipping on my resume is current and accurate. Thank you so much! It was a pleasure speaking to Dave at the job fair.

  3. Hi,
I would like the iPhone 3G 3GS EXO Polycarbonate Slim Fit Case (Red/Black), please. My resume doesn’t include an address – I will email it to you? I’d prefer not to have it posted publicly to avoid spam and such.

Also, after spending about 20 minutes looking through your site for the perfect iPhone case – of which you seem to have several nice ones by the way – I noticed a few usability concerns you might want to address. One is that when I clicked on many of the cases, such as the “Chrome Glider,” the color shown was the white case. This was also true for Polycarbonate Slim and the Polycarbonate Glider. The issue to me is that at first, I didn’t realize these cases came in different colors, and since the white looked almost identical the three cases seemed to be the same.

I would suggest possibly making the little color chooser more prominent somehow, or my preferred solution would be to have the color shown change randomly when someone clicks on a particular case. That way your users would be exposed to a wider range of products, and would also be more likely to realize that there are more colors available (If you see a white cases you are more likely to assume that this is the only color available than if you see a brown case, or a blue case, or some other color.) I realize now that the pictures of the cases in the main page show multiple colors – I really don’t know why I was misled into thinking there was only white, but somehow it happened and I would imagine I’m not the only one it has happened to.
